Seco Island in Tibiao

Seco Island   ("seko" means elbow in our local language). The Seco Island known for its beautiful sunrise and white playful dolpdins following every vessel that pass by.

It basically looks like a clump of fine white sand dumped in the middle of the ocean, with just a handful of trees and shrubs somewhere on the side.

Truth be told, snorkeling isn't the best thing to do in Seco. There were few corals and plenty of sea grass.

The best thing about Seco is its white sand beaches. It's perfect for picture taking, beach bumming, and generally just relaxing after a long boat ride.

"Paradise in Seco Island"

Aside from its unspoiled water that changes color every now and then, the area is also rich in marine resources such  the local government campaigning very hard to protect the island resources.

The 1.5 kilometer powder-fine sand bar is said to be comparable to the Maldives in Indian Ocean.

We recommended tourist to bring big umbrellas or tent, sunblock, food, and sufficient water when planning to vivist Seco.

Tourist can stay overnight using tents.

Not visible form mainland Antique, it takes a 3 or 4 hours boat ride, sometimes through rough  a seas, before one can get glimpse of this raw yet captivating island. But it's definitely worth the wait once you reach the island.

How to get there?
  • You can ride pump boat, from Culasi or Tibiao.

Nogas Island

Nogas island is a 24-hectare (59-acre) government naval reservation island in Antique Province, Philippines. It is 4.8 kilometers (3 mi) from the shoreline of Anini-y town proper and can be accessed by sailboat or motorboat within 20 minutes.
"Nogas Island"
:

In Nogas island, you can do a lot of things including hiking, beaches, mangroves, birding, lighthouse, where to buy your s picnic lunch. Pack your lunch, your snorkeling gear, your camera and binoculars in a waterproof bag and head for a very special place.

The only island at the Southernmost part of Antique is the beautiful, picturesque, Nogas Island. Virgin, unspoiled, and is a natural reserve for marine life, birds, and thriving mangroves. This (the island) is a small wonder that boasts its white sand beaches, coral reefs bursting with colors, and that untouched “garden” of life underwater. No wonder it was love at first sight when I see it.

How to get to Nogas Island:
  • From the Molo Bus terminal (at San Pedro St.), take the bus the route to Anini-y and tell the bus conductor that you are headed to Sira-an Hot Spring and Health Resort (starting point of Nogas Island escapade) – the fare is around Php80 to Php90. It’s a 2-hour trip.
  • Pay your entrance fee of Php20 at the Sira-an front desk and let them know that you are going to Nogas Island.
  • If you are traveling solo, ask if there are other people who will go to Nogas Island. You will pay around Php50 to Php100 (roundtrip) and you will be sharing the boat with other travelers. 5-10 people could fit on the outrigger boat.
  • The boat rental is Php500 – of course, I paid the whole amount since I was the only one brave enough to spend Valentine’s Day alone and on an island Make sure to have your friends and families to bond with
  • There’s another Php20 for environmental fee
  • Tell your boat man what time he will pick you up for your trip back to Sira-an
  • I suggest you’ll have lunch at the Sira-an Hotspring Restaurant. There are plenty of available meals there. The Nogas Island has literally nothing there to provide you with refreshments and snacks. Php50-Php100 meals
  • There are snorkeling sets for rent. I believe they are only limited. It’s Php100 per set.
  • If you are headed back to Iloilo, there’s a Ceres bus that passes by around 4:30pm to 5pm. Make sure to catch it. Else, you could spend the night in Sira-an.

A sulfur spring above the massive rock near the seaside where the warm water flows through its natural services, going the mini tubs and filling in the large pool.
