What makes Maningning or Maniguin island so special?

The Maniguin Island is special because of the Lighthouse. The Maniguin Island Lighthouse is a lighthouse that marks the Cuyo East Passage, a main shipping route into the Sulu Sea. The island
is located  26. miles off of the coast of Culasi, Antique in the Philippines.  It has a narrow ridge 110 feet high across its southern end, and the remainder of the island is wooded, and not more than 15 feet high. It is fringed with coral reefs with deep water at their edges. The round cyclindrical concrete tower with a gallery on the top is located near the southeastern point of the island.

It will take you 3-4  hours to reach the island from Culasi proper.

How to go there?
  • From Iloilo airport; go to Molo Buses and Van Terminal and take the bus for Culasi (5-6 hours). Fare is 200 in van and 180 in bus.
  • From Kalibo airport;  Take bus or van bound to Culasi.
  • Once you're at Culasi, go to their boulevard or Culasi port. From the Tourism Office you can rent an outrigger boat (pump boat).
